At the Kirchman Foundation we have created a unique and rich educational experience for all individuals, and especially children. It is our hope that all who visit the Lake X Property will leave with a new awareness and understanding of nature, wildlife, and old Florida.
The Foundation conducts on-site educational programs and workshops, and operates recreational facilities. The Foundation’s primary means of outreach to children is through its partnership with the Osceola County School Board and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Through this partnership, the Foundation is able to host area school children and work with their teachers to provide a one of a kind experience through field trips and other educational programming. In addition to these programs, the Foundation and the Sheriff’s Office have partnered to host an eight-week summer adventure camp program for at risk youth selected from area schools. Participants enjoy activities such as nature walks, guided tours, classroom speakers, artifact collection activities, ropes course, kayaking, air rifles, archery, and team building games.
The Foundation continues to expand its partnership with Osceola County and other organizations to meet the needs of the general public who may benefit from the programs offered by the Foundation at the Lake X Property.
